Legislative Controls in Tasmania

Hemp is the fibre that is produced from plants of the cannabis genus. As cannabis plants, like opium poppies, produce derivatives that can be detrimental to human health, their cultivation is subject to legislative controls. This paper seeks to present an understanding of the legislation governing industrial hemp production in Tasmania.
