DPIPWE Libraries



The DPIPWE Library Service supports the Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment and the Tasmanian Institute of Agricultural Research. There are three main branches:

All of these libraries are staffed part time. If you wish to visit, please phone ahead to check staff availability.

Collection Strengths

Hobart:  Environmental Management, Land and Water Management, Natural and Cultural Heritage, Park Management, GIS & Mapping.

New Town and Launceston:  Primary Industries, Veterinary Science, Biosecurity, Land and Water Management, Aquaculture and/or Fisheries.

Access

Students, members of the public and employees of other departments may use the library service but may not borrow, except on inter-library loan. There is a fee for photocopying.
