Spatial Information Foundations ProjectDevelopment of new, state-of-the-art spatial information infrastructure
Spatial Information Foundations is a two-year project to develop a contemporary platform for the management and distribution of spatial information across all tiers of government and the private sector and facilitate the improved use of spatial information for key priorities of the Tasmanian Government.
This will improve the quality and timeliness of services and decision-making, especially in the areas of planning, economic development, policy development and emergency management. The project is part of the Tasmanian Government ICT Strategy, and it supports the Economic Development Plan, strategies for planning reform and the SenseT program.
This investment enhances the technological framework of the LIST, which was developed in the 1990s.
The project is being implemented through seven sub-projects. See the fact sheets for more information.
