Veterinary Board of TasmaniaThe Board provides an information service to the veterinary profession with respect to the registration procedures required by the Act, together with contemporary standards of veterinary practice. The Board also provides information to the general public with respect to procedures for making complaints about veterinary surgeons.

Changes to the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1987 and commencement of the Veterinary Surgeons Regulations 2012
Amendments to the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1987 and the Veterinary Surgeons Regulations 2012 commenced on 12 December 2012. For a summary of the changes go to Veterinary Board Publications.
National Recognition of Veterinary Registration (NRVR)
NRVR applies in Tasmania from 12 December 2012. Veterinary surgeons (including specialists) who currently hold primary registration and reside permanently in another Australian State or Territory are entitled to practise as a veterinary surgeon in Tasmania on a part-time/casual/locum basis without having to register with the Veterinary Board of Tasmania.
